The Dental clinic workers (DCWs) in Yemen have an additional risk of getting infected with&#13;
hepatitis C virus (HCV) from their work place and till now there is no study in prevalence of&#13;
HCV infection and associated risk factors among DCWs. The purposes of this survey were to&#13;
evaluate what proportion of dentists and dental assistants had serological evidence of current&#13;
or previous HCV infection. Data were acquired from a cross sectional survey conducted&#13;
among DCWs in 2014 at the Faculty of Dentistry, Sana’a University, in Sana›a city. Enzymelinked&#13;
Immunosorbant assay (ELISA) was used to test sera for HCV antibodies. The study&#13;
included 246 dentists and 263 dental assistants; the sero-prevalence of current HCV infection&#13;
was 1.6%. In conclusion, the prevalence of HCV infection was high among Yemeni DCWs&#13;
and exposure to potentially infectious body fluids was high which might lead to high rate of&#13;
transmit HCV to DCWs, therefore ensures a safer work environment is important in control&#13;
and prevention of HCV in DCWs in Yemen.

<title>An Investigation into University Students’ Errors in Tenses in their Written Production</title>
<link>http://localhost:8080/xmlui/handle/123456789/575</link>
<description>An Investigation into University Students’ Errors in Tenses in their Written Production
Zeinab Al-atta Saeed; Abdallah Yassin
The study aimed to investigate university student’s errors in English tenses, in their written&#13;
production. The researcher used the descriptive analytical method and the Statistical Program&#13;
for Data Analysis. Results of the study indicated that university students who were chosen for&#13;
this study, we found to be facing a real problem, when writing English tenses. This problem&#13;
affected their performance. The study showed also that the greatest numbers of errors were&#13;
found to be due to omission of verbs and verbs to be. Moreover, the results revealed that the&#13;
reason behind the student’s errors was a linguistic cause related to the interference of first&#13;
language, and the target language. The researcher recommended that further research should&#13;
be carried out, in the areas of tenses, as the data of the analysis indicated that.

<description>Causes of Silicification, Tension Joints and Different Degrees and Directions of Dips of Nubian Sandstones Outcrops in Khartoum State Omer
Omer Elbadri; Elgizouli Ahmed Hamid
Nubian Sandstone outcrops north of Khartoum State are arenaceous with fossils and&#13;
horizontal, while in central and south are ferruginous, argillaceous, dipping in different&#13;
directions, with tension joints and no fossils. Field work targeted all outcrops in the study&#13;
area; methods include description, measurements, and petrographic analysis. The present&#13;
work referred silicification and Petrified wood formed as a result of hydrothermal alteration&#13;
by silica derived from adjacent basement complex.Different directions of dips and tension&#13;
joints is attributed to intrusion of Late Tertiary basaltic rocks in central area.

<title>Assessment of Plasma Troponin I, Total Creatine Kinase and Creatine Kinase -MB as Biomarkers for Acute Coronary Syndrome in El-Obied City</title>
<link>http://localhost:8080/xmlui/handle/123456789/573</link>
<description>Assessment of Plasma Troponin I, Total Creatine Kinase and Creatine Kinase -MB as Biomarkers for Acute Coronary Syndrome in El-Obied City

Acute coronary syndrome is one of the world’s major killers and has a high morbidity and mortality&#13;
rates. The aim of this study to assess the role of different markers used in the diagnosis of acute&#13;
coronary syndrome. Descriptive case - control study conducted during the period from October 2015&#13;
to August 2016 to determine the plasma levels of total creatine kinase (CK), creatine kinase – MB&#13;
(CK-MB) and troponin I as diagnostic markers for acute coronary syndrome. Statistical package for&#13;
social science (SPSS version 17) computer software was used for data analysis. The result of this study&#13;
showed significant high level of CK and CK-MB of the test group when compared with control group&#13;
and significant elevated means of plasma levels of total CK and CK-MB of myocardial infarction&#13;
patients when compared with unstable angina within test group. The result of this study also revealed&#13;
that; the plasma troponin I is positive in myocardial infarction when compared with unstable angina&#13;
in test group. Conclusion: Qualitative assessment of plasma level of cardiac troponin and measuring&#13;
of the plasma activity of total CK and CK-MB are helpful markers for diagnosis of patients with acute&#13;
coronary syndrome.
